FAQ

As students and parents ask important questions that apply to the whole class I will post them here so that everyone will have access to the answers. Mrs. Bresky

How will the reading program change this year?

As a school we are transitioning from working in literature anthologies to working with novels in
literature circles. Research has shown that this type of class work is the most effective for both
learning how to read and developing a lifelong love of reading.

Toward this end, I have chosen three novels that we will read during reading class in the first and second quarter of school. They are all coordinated with our world history class so that our
experiences in both subjects can be enriched. For the third and fourth quarters students will choose their own books based on suggested novels. We will also be incorporating short stories, folk tales, and poetry into our classes.
