HOME LEARNING EXPERIENCE

GUIDELINES TO MAKE STUDY EASY

1. ALWAYS do the hardest subject first.

2. Take short breaks after each assignment:

NO to TV, naps, video games, phone

YES to exercise, bathroom, moving around, snack

3. Divide homework into two parts for each subject: written exercises and study time.

Each gets 50% of your time per subject!

4. Be an aggressive learner. Passive learning takes longer and doesn't last.

Aggressive learners learn more and learn forever. Study with concentration

5. Review work daily in each subject.

  1. Make sure you answer questions completely. Check by reading the question, writing the answer, and checking your answer against the question and directions.

7. Set homework up in your notebook or on loose-leaf according to the directions of the

teacher. Mrs. Schickler expects to see the date, page number and exercise

number for each assignment.

8. Spend no less than 20 minutes on each major subject. Some may take longer.

  1. Don't give up after just a few minutes on a subject. Do the best you can; wrong answers are better than no answers. Teachers can help you better if they can see how you've handled the subject.
  2. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Your parents, on-line homework help, a call to a friend (only for help!) may make your experience easier.
